Promise 4 – Marketable Skills through Effective Education

Eight members of the Effective Education Team are in the process of gathering information to assist in developing goals in five identified areas:

- Career orientation
- Skills for English Language Learners (ELL, ESOL)
- Educational Options (e.g.distance learning, small schools, dual enrollment)
- Access to the Arts
- Early Childhood Support

Position statements have been developed for ELL and Educational Options and two task forces will be appointed in June to recommend goals and strategies.

Summer Shadowing, a signature project of Boca Raton’s Promise, will be held in July with co-sponsorship by the Rotary Central Club International. An art symposium is being planned. Progress will be reported during an Education Town Meeting now being planned by the Promise 4 Team. Membership on the Team and task forces is open to interested youth and adults.
