Summer Career Search – Register by July 8

Boca Raton’s Promise is accepting registrations for its 5th annual Summer Career Explorers program –previously known as Summer Shadowing. Boca Raton’s Promise encourages parents and youth to team up to discuss careers and how to prepare for them. While one-on-one shadowing is still available for older youth, the program is now geared to provide group experiences for younger teens who benefit from interaction with peers during the visit.

The program will run for two weeks starting July 19. The Promise and the Boca Raton Central Rotary Club have teamed up to provide youth, ages 13-18, with opportunities to visit worksites and professional offices to learn about careers of special interest to them. Participants must provide their own transportation to sites where they will spend 2-4 hours in a group with career mentors who will describe their work, the skills and training needed, and suggest ways to prepare to enter the field.

Youth may call The Promise Line, 561- 750-4810, for information. A brief resume is required and may be downloaded from

www.bocaratonspromise.org .

Applications must be received before July 8.
