Teens Create Spring Break Musical
Twenty-one youth from Palm Beach County gathered at Boca Raton Middle School during Spring Break to create a musical adventure. Titled "Conflict Coaster: A musical ride", the show depicted the boredom teens can face with school assignments, and the fears and joys they experience as they view the world of today, and beyond. The production was funded by the Palm Beach County Commission, Recreation Assistance Program, District 4. For more information
8th Annual Meeting
Dave Freudenberg, a long time supporter of youth in Boca Raton, acknowledged three persons with the Circle of Excellence Award honoring each for ten years of service on the Board of Directors. Awards were presented during the 8th Annual Meeting to Michael Adams, Patricia Thomas and Dr. Merrilee Middleton. Dr. Middleton, Founder, was honored by the Jacobs Family Foundation which donated $10,000 to establish a youth activity fund in her name. New Home, New Partners, New Address
The Prime Management Group of Boca Raton is a new partner of the Alliance for Youth. Prime has donated office space to enable Boca Raton’s Promise to expand and keep the Five Promises made to youth. The move to 6300 Park of Commerce Blvd. was completed on March 27, 2006. 2006 Promises Announced
Four new Board Members were installed during the annual meeting of the Alliance held on January 17 at the Country Club at Boca Raton. Members said thank you to its Resource Development Team (above) for organizing the first “Pull Your Weight” Golf Tournament raising $25,000. More thanks went to those responsible for: Funding to expand Friday Friends, Autonomy for the Service Council, Donation of enlarged office space and Creation of the Mental Health Alliance.
